Description

Mobile Leak Detection with PHOENIX MOBILIS Ultra

Fast and accurate on-site detection of gas and vacuum leaks

🔍 Vacuum System Tightness Control

Vacuum system tightness has a direct impact on:

  • process stability,

  • product quality,

  • energy efficiency,

  • operational safety.

Even small leaks can lead to degradation of vacuum performance and increased operating costs. For this reason, rapid on-site leak detection is a critical part of vacuum system maintenance.

We provide mobile leak detection services for vacuum and gas systems using the professional handheld detector Leybold PHOENIX MOBILIS Ultra.

🚚 On-Site Leak Detection Without Equipment Dismantling

The PHOENIX MOBILIS Ultra is designed specifically for field use and on-site inspections. The instrument requires minimal setup and allows effective leak detection:

  • along vacuum pipelines and joints

  • at flanges, valves, and fittings

  • on welded seams

  • in gas and vacuum lines

  • on operating industrial equipment

Leak testing is performed directly in the operating environment, without dismantling components or shutting down the system.

🧪 Detection Principle and Gases

The instrument is based on a Micro Thermal Conductivity Detector (MTCD), providing high sensitivity at very low internal flow rates.

PHOENIX MOBILIS Ultra is highly sensitive to:

  • Helium (He)

  • Hydrogen (H₂)

  • Ammonia (NH₃)

  • Refrigerants (R134a, R404a, R407c, R507, and others)

  • A wide range of industrial gases and mixtures

This makes the device ideal for detecting micro-leaks that cannot be found using visual inspection or pressure testing methods.

⚙️ Key Technical Parameters

According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the PHOENIX MOBILIS Ultra offers:

  • Detector type: Micro Thermal Conductivity Detector (MTCD)

  • Response time (T90): ≈ 1 second

  • Internal flow rate: 2 cc/s

  • Factory calibration:

    • 5000 ppm helium (±5%)

    • Equivalent leak: 0.0005 cc/sec

  • Internal data logging: up to 10 days of continuous recording

  • Audible alarm: ≥ 90 dBA

  • Automatic zeroing to ambient air at start-up

  • Ingress protection: IP44

  • Battery life: up to 20 hours

  • Weight: approx. 447 g

🧲 Operation in Challenging Environments (MRI, Industry)

A key advantage of the PHOENIX MOBILIS Ultra is its resistance to high magnetic fields. The detector can be safely used:

  • in MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) environments

  • in areas with strong electromagnetic fields

  • in demanding industrial conditions without signal interference

This makes it a unique solution for medical facilities, research laboratories, and high-tech manufacturing.

📏 Measurement Reliability and Quality Assurance

  • Instruments are factory calibrated

  • Measurements are stable and repeatable

  • Results can be stored and documented

  • Services are performed within an ISO 9001 quality management system
