The PI 450i CM Infrared Package for Condition Monitoring includes a mid-resolution infrared thermal camera, a visible camera, an air purge, and a USB Server HT, all pre-assembled in a sturdy IP66 outdoor housing with a wall mount. Built for extreme environments, the integrated Germanium protective window, automatic heater, and fan support reliable 24/7 operation from –40 °C to 60 °C without affecting measurement stability.
With a thermal resolution of 382 x 288 pixels and a sensitivity of 40 mK, the PI 450i infrared camera provides precise thermal monitoring at utility stations, industrial assets, mining conveyors, waste bunkers, and transformers under high heat loads. The package combines infrared and HD visual streams through the USB-Server HT, which allows smooth integration into video management systems and remote control platforms.
Designed for early hotspot detection, the system constantly monitors critical equipment where electrical resistance, load peaks, and component wear create thermal stress. Continuous infrared monitoring replaces occasional handheld inspections. This ensures operators can identify emerging failures during peak load hours, which helps improve grid reliability and protect against brownouts and blackouts.
Key advantages include its all-in-one delivery, integrated air purge to prevent dust buildup on optics, optional extended temperature ranges up to 1500 °C, and a wide selection of optics from 18° to 80° HFOV to fit substation spacing, conveyor widths, or furnace lines. This makes the PI 450i CM suitable for both high-temperature mechanical risk areas and low-temperature self-ignition monitoring in biomass, waste storage, coal yards, paper processing, and recycling facilities.
PIX Connect software allows multi-camera visualization, alarm zoning per ROI, and output to PLC-triggered suppression systems. With the modular process interface, operators can trigger sirens, shutdown relays, or fire suppression when limits are exceeded. This reduces downtime, protects assets, and extends the life cycles of components.
