Description
The Testo 883-2 thermal imager is a high-end instrument optimized specifically for building energy consultants, structural inspectors, and maintenance engineers. Featuring an infrared detector resolution of 320 x 240 pixels (expandable to 640 x 480 pixels with integrated Testo SuperResolution technology) and a thermal sensitivity (NETD) of less than 40 mK, this device provides precise thermal profiling. Equipped with a wide-angle lens (42° x 32°), it allows quick diagnostics in confined indoor spaces. The manual focus system down to 10 cm enables sharp imaging of small anomalies and structural insulation defects.
The system supports wireless Bluetooth data streaming from the optional Testo 605i thermohygrometer or Testo 770-3 clamp meter. It also features WLAN connectivity to interface with the Testo Thermography App for remote operation and evaluation via the PC software Testo IRSoft.
Industry Applications and Scenarios
- Building Energy Consulting: Rapid detection of thermal bridges, structural air leaks, and missing insulation components.
- Mould Risk Identification: Special humidity mode maps moisture distribution using a traffic light color scheme when linked with a humidity probe.
- Electrical Diagnostics: Thermal inspection of electrical components, switchcabinets, and connections to locate overheated spots.
