Encased in a high-purity alumina sheath (6.35 mm diameter), the Fluke 5649 / 5650 R/S thermocouple utilizes reference-grade platinum and platinum-rhodium alloys (Type S: Pt-10%Rh vs Pt, Type R: Pt-13%Rh vs Pt) to achieve superior output stability. This primary reference noble metal thermocouple delivers exceptional measurement precision with uncertainties as low as 0.12 °C at fixed calibration points, supported by ultra-low EMF copper connecting cables to preserve signal integrity when linked to micro-voltmeters or precision readouts.
