However, while brewing is critical, the bottling process plays an equally vital role in preserving the beer's taste and ensuring its longevity during storage and transportation. Due to the delicate nature of beer, the bottling process involves multiple stages of vacuum evacuation, followed by CO2 flushing.

Vacuum systems are indispensable for achieving the lowest possible "Total Packaged Oxygen" (TPO), a key factor in maintaining the beer’s freshness for an extended period. Modern beer packaging occurs on advanced rotary fillers capable of processing up to 80,000 bottles per hour. While liquid ring vacuum pumps were commonly used in the past, their performance limitations—such as reliance on cooling water temperature, susceptibility to cavitation, and high energy and water usage—make them less effective for this demanding application.
